Iraqi Shia and Sunni Muslims perform Eid al-Adha prayers together

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Hundreds of Shia and Sunni Iraqis performed prayers together at al-Ferdous mosque in central Baghdad on Friday (October 26th) at dawn to mark the start of Eid al-Adha. Following the prayers, attended by clerics and politicians, participants called on Iraqis to reject division and discord and unite against terrorism."There is nothing more dangerous to terrorism than Iraqi unity and solidarity," said Sheikh Ahmad Adbul Ghafoor al-Sammarae, head of the Sunni Endowment in Iraq. "[We] stood in one line today in prayer and listened to calls for unity and peace, and this is a great thing."Worshippers also chanted slogans calling for peace and renouncing terrorism and violence. /129
